About the event

The Black Hole Monoplex is a popular non-profit virtual cinema launched by a Hollywood insider during COVID as a way to connect audiences with filmmakers. An overnight success, it has become a destination for virtual film premieres, fundraisers, and cult events.

Partnering with the creative team behind the iconic WINKEL STUDIOS, The Black Hole Monoplex will be launching WORMHOLE, a series of immersive film events that transport audiences into the eras of the films they are watching. Working with top art directors, performers, and film companies, every event is a "Wormhole" to another era, from a speakeasy-style Film Noir event, to a trippy, wild return to the 1970s. This will also encompass site-specific events in the future, such as a floating screening of JAWS held in kayaks on the East River.

Peter Warren is a writer for film and television. In TV, he has developed original pilots for Fox, NBC, CBS, Showtime, CBS Studios, Sony, Lionsgate and Dark Horse. He is currently the showrunner of THE AUTEUR at Showtime, which he co-created with Taika Waititi and starring Jude Law, produced by Legendary and Endeavor Content. As a screenwriter, he has written movies for Warner Bros., Universal and 20th Century Fox, collaborating with directors and talent including Todd Phillips, Marc Webb, Lorene Scafaria, and Kevin Hart. He is currently co-writing a feature with Jemaine Clement. He will make his directing debut with his original screenplay, MURDER/SUICIDE, starring Charlie Day and Nathan Lane. He has had several independent films produced and distributed, including GHOST TEAM (2016) and the upcoming SID IS DEAD (2021). He is a graduate of NYU-Tisch and recently wrote on the upcoming adaptation of the HALO video game for Paramount+.
