Modibo Keita

Born in Montreal on October 26th, 1991, the Canadian and Malian musician, singer-songwriter and producer has a long and impressive resume. Keita founded and runs The Shed Montreal, a popular speakeasy event series that features 100% improvised Hip Hop, R&B and Jazz, as well as secret DJ nights. Through the Shed, Keita has worked with world renowned musicians like Casey Benjamin (Q-Tip, Robert Glasper Experiment), Melanie Charles (SZA, Mach-Hommy) and Endea Owens (Jon Batiste, Solange) to name just a few. The Shed also curated after parties for the Montreal International Jazz Festival from 2019 to 2023. In October, Keita became the first black talent buyer to work for the Montreal International Jazz Festival since its inception in 1980.
